Mews alternative
FrontDesk vs Mews
Mews is a hospitality cloud with a large marketplace, sold in quote-only tiers. FrontDesk is a simpler PMS with a published per-property price.
How we compare: we have no commercial relationship with Mews. What we say about Mews comes from its own public pages, read on September 26, 2026 (link below); where a vendor publishes no price we say so instead of quoting third-party estimates. Prices change, so check the source before you decide. FrontDesk's gaps are on this page as plainly as its strengths.
How you pay
Mews
Three tiers, all by quote
- • Tiers Essentials, Advanced and Enterprise; no figures on the page, each asks you to "Get pricing".
- • Marketplace access grows with the tier: 8 integrations on Essentials, 1000+ plus the Open API on Enterprise.
FrontDesk
Per property, public, no quotes
- • €39/month per property (or €390/year) up to 49 rooms; from 50 rooms Enterprise at €2.90 per room per month, falling to €1.90 from 400 rooms.
- • Groups: €33/month per property from 3 properties, €29 from 10, one subscription and one invoice, activated from Settings.
- • Every feature in the one plan; no setup fee, no minimum term, 14-day trial without a card.
Feature by feature
Mews: no figures on the pricing page; Mews quotes on request. FrontDesk: €39/month per property on the pricing page, sign up and pay by card yourself.
Mews: channel manager powered by SiteMinder. FrontDesk connects two-way to OTAs through Channex (a certified channel manager you subscribe to separately) or syncs via iCal. It is not a built-in channel manager.
Mews: booking engine included. FrontDesk: a hosted booking page per property with live availability and seasonal prices; deposits go to your own Stripe account.
Mews: the Open API is listed with the Enterprise tier. FrontDesk: REST API for reservations, availability and guests plus signed webhooks, in the base price.
Mews: POS available as a paid add-on. FrontDesk has no point of sale: extras are posted to the folio by hand.
Mews: revenue management available as an add-on. FrontDesk has rate plans, seasons and per-night overrides, but no automated pricing engine.
Choose Mews if
- • You want automated guest payments, POS and a revenue system from one vendor and have budget for add-ons.
- • You depend on a wide marketplace of certified integrations.
Choose FrontDesk if
- • You want the API included at every size, not only at the top tier.
- • You prefer a price you can read and a setup your team learns in an afternoon.
- • You run a group and want per-property pricing that falls as you add properties.
