LOS (Length of Stay)

The number of nights in a stay, a key input for demand analysis.

LOS (Length of Stay) is the number of nights of a given stay. It matters for a single reservation (rates, packages, housekeeping planning) and even more as an average: your average LOS says a lot about the demand you attract. Short stays are typical of business and city-break travel, longer stays of resort and extended-stay business.

Length of stay also drives cost: every arrival and departure means a full clean, check-in and checkout, so a longer average LOS usually lowers the cost per occupied room.

In practice: if your average LOS is low, check whether a minimum stay on peak dates or a length-of-stay discount on shoulder dates would lift RevPAR by filling orphan nights around short stays.
