MLOS (Minimum Length of Stay) is a stay restriction that only accepts a reservation if it covers at least a set number of consecutive nights, for example two nights on Saturdays or three nights over a holiday weekend.
It is a revenue management tool: on high-demand dates a one-night booking can break a pattern that would otherwise sell as a longer stay, leaving an orphan night on either side that is hard to fill. Many systems distinguish MLOS on arrival (applies to the arrival date only) from MLOS through (applies to any stay touching that date).
In practice: apply MLOS on peak nights and compression dates, and review it as the date approaches. If a restricted date is not filling a week out, lifting the restriction usually earns more than protecting a stay pattern that is not going to materialise.
