FrontDesk vs Kross Booking
Kross Booking publishes a per-room price. FrontDesk has one flat fee per property. Here's where each one actually makes sense.
How we compare: we receive no commission from Kross Booking and have no commercial relationship with them. Information about Kross Booking comes from its official public pages, checked on September 19, 2026 (link below). Prices change: always check the official source before you decide. FrontDesk's gaps are written on this page just as plainly as its strengths.
How you pay, on each side
Kross Booking
Monthly fee per room, public price list, 3-room minimum.
- • Basic plan: €4 per room/apartment per month, excl. VAT — PMS features, no channel manager or booking engine.
- • Premium plan: €6 per room/apartment per month, excl. VAT — PMS + channel manager + booking engine.
- • Available from a minimum of 3 rooms; no setup or training fees, no minimum term.
- • Above 20 rooms, pricing leaves the public list and becomes a custom quote.
FrontDesk
One plan, public pricing, no quotes
- • 14-day free trial of every feature, no credit card.
- • €39/month per property — not per room — with a managed cloud database and multi-device sync.
- • No minimum term, no setup fee, cancel anytime yourself from Settings.
- • Planner, folio, housekeeping, reports and local compliance modules (e.g. Italy's tourist tax and Alloggiati Web export) included.
Example: a 12-room property
Kross Booking
€72/month (12 × €6, Premium plan, excl. VAT)
FrontDesk
A flat €39/month per property, no per-room fees, 14-day free trial
At 12 rooms the math flips compared with a 4-room property: per-room pricing rewards the very small and penalizes growth. But look at what that €72 buys: a channel manager and a booking engine, which FrontDesk doesn't have.
Feature by feature
FrontDesk comes with a 14-day trial of every feature, no credit card asked: you only pay if you keep it.
FrontDesk Pro costs €39/month per property, not per room: your bill doesn't grow as you do.
In Italy these are legal requirements, so any PMS sold there covers them. In FrontDesk they're included in the single plan, no add-on.
This gap is real and worth saying plainly: FrontDesk only syncs via public iCal feeds (Booking.com, Airbnb, VRBO), with no certified two-way connection. If you sell on many OTAs and need automatic rate push, a commercial channel manager does a job FrontDesk doesn't do today.
FrontDesk gives every property a public direct-booking page (real availability, prices, and requests that land in your quotes) that you can link from your website or social profiles. It isn't yet a widget you embed on your own site, and guests can't pay online yet: those come later.
The FrontDesk demo is online with sample data and asks for nothing: /demo. No forms, no calls.
Both publish their prices — far from a given in this market, where several vendors only show a contact form.
Kross Booking starts at a minimum of 3 rooms/apartments; FrontDesk has no minimum.
When Kross Booking makes sense
- • You sell on many OTAs and want direct two-way connections, not just iCal.
- • You need a booking engine on your property's website for direct bookings.
- • You have 3-6 rooms: at €4 per room, your monthly bill stays below FrontDesk Pro.
When FrontDesk makes sense
- • You have more than 7-8 rooms: a flat fee costs less than per-room pricing, and stops growing.
- • You want to start at zero cost with no credit card, keeping your data on your own hardware.
- • You handle OTAs via iCal, or most of your bookings come direct or by phone.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Kross Booking pricing shown here up to date?
The figures come from Kross Booking's official pricing page, checked on September 19, 2026. Vendor prices change: always check the official page, linked above, before you decide.
Can FrontDesk replace Kross Booking's channel manager?
No, and we'll say it clearly: FrontDesk syncs availability via iCal with Booking.com, Airbnb and other channels that support it, but it has no certified two-way connections and no automatic rate push. If a channel manager is the reason you're shopping for a PMS, a commercial product like Kross Booking does a job today that FrontDesk doesn't.
Can I try FrontDesk before migrating from Kross Booking?
Yes, in two ways, without touching your real data: the online demo with sample data (/demo), and the 14-day free trial running side by side, where you import your bookings from a file and make sure the day-to-day workflow suits you before you move your property over.
