FrontDesk vs tiered PMS pricing
Not everyone is comparing FrontDesk with Excel: many are already weighing up different PMSs. Here's an honest comparison, with real examples and verifiable sources, not a list of other people's flaws.
How we compare: this page describes a pricing model typical of the “paid cloud PMS” category, not every single vendor on the market. The two numeric examples below are public data, checked directly on the vendors' official pages on July 8, 2026: third-party prices change over time, so always check the vendor's official website before you decide.

Model by model
Paid PMS software typically starts from a tiered monthly fee; FrontDesk is one flat €39/month per property, after a 14-day free trial.
Many offer a free trial that still asks for a card; FrontDesk never does.
Annual billing is often discounted against monthly; FrontDesk has no expiry and no commitment.
PMS vendors active in a given market almost always cover its legal requirements — it isn't a unique differentiator. FrontDesk includes them in its single plan, out of the box.
Paid PMS software often includes dozens or hundreds of certified direct connections. FrontDesk connects two-way to OTAs through Channex (a certified channel manager you subscribe to separately) or syncs via free iCal feeds.
Often available on higher tiers or as a separate module. FrontDesk only offers manual competitor tracking: the system suggests, it never applies prices on its own.
FrontDesk runs in a managed cloud: every device sees the same bookings, planner and housekeeping in real time.
Often included on higher tiers. FrontDesk currently offers email/contact support only.
typically yes · depends on plan/vendor · typically no
When paid PMS software makes sense
If you run a chain or several properties and need a native multi-property switcher, if you want a channel manager with hundreds of OTAs connected directly rather than via iCal, if you need automatic dynamic pricing tied into a revenue management engine, or dedicated 24/7 phone support — an enterprise paid PMS will probably serve you better than FrontDesk today. That's outside our current scope, and we'd rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise.
When FrontDesk is all you need
If you run a property — from a B&B or guesthouse to a hotel with hundreds of rooms — and want to get started right away with no credit card, no contract, no per-room pricing tiers to work through, and local compliance (e.g. Italy's tourist tax and Alloggiati Web export) included in one flat price: FrontDesk covers the most common needs of this kind of property from day one.
Frequently asked questions
How much does FrontDesk cost?
One flat €39/month per property, not per room, with every feature included. You start with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, so nothing is charged unless you decide to continue. The details are on /pricing, with no hidden price to discover later.
Are the vendor prices on this page up to date?
They were checked directly on the vendors' official pages on July 8, 2026 (links in the section above). Third-party PMS prices change over time and vary by room count, modules and market: always check the vendor's official website for the latest offer before you decide.
Why only two examples and not a full market comparison?
There are dozens of hotel PMSs out there, with different pricing models. We picked two public, verifiable, well-known examples to illustrate how a paid cloud PMS is typically priced, not to produce an exhaustive ranking.
If I have more than 10 rooms or several properties, is FrontDesk still right for me?
Pro covers up to 49 rooms per property at a flat price; from 50 rooms Enterprise is priced per room with volume tiers. Several properties live in one account: a property switcher moves you between them and the group view shows occupancy, ADR and RevPAR per property and for the whole group. The group plan is priced per property with volume steps.
